Instech at Booster Conference

At this years Booster conference in Bergen, Instech had the privilege to be both participants and presenters. Booster is a software conference for the whole team. It offers talks and workshops for anyone involved in software development from developers to project managers. To be able to engage in knowledge sharing with other technology enthusiasts is something we value high here at Instech.

First day of the conference, our Tech lead developer, Ami Ahalpara, gave her inspiring 10 minutes lightning talk about “Effective communication in Hybrid teams”.

At Instech, we are well acquainted with working in hybrid teams as we have the possibility to work from home office, consultants who work from other premises and in other countries. We know that communication is key to good collaboration. In her talk, Ami mentioned the new challenges we face working in hybrid teams compared to a fully remote team or a team working from the same office location. And that listening skills, asking the right questions and presenting ideas effectively can improve collaboration between team members.

We highly recommend watching Ami’s presentation HERE!

Booster Conference wants participant to take away real knowledge they can use. That’s why interactive, hands-on workshops fill up most of the hours.

Contributing to this was our very own Solution architect Stig Nielsen and Senior system developer Eugene Rebedailo. On the last day of Booster, they held the "Become an Entity Framework Ninja" workshop.
The goal was to create schemas required for the sample domain model they presented. By using examples from a relational database and dotnet entity framework, they presented tips and tricks on how to achieve this without too many trade-offs. The workshop was joined by quite a few people, where there were productive discussions and solutions.

We love being able to share our knowledge and insight, and at the same time engage in discussions and learn from other software developers. Experiences like this are very valuable, and motivates us to always stay curious.

Already looking forward to next year!
