Being an Instech Team Member

At Instech Solutions, everybody’s well-being and subsequent ability to perform their tasks are highly important to us. A big part in safeguarding these crucial elements is creating a working environment that promotes concentration, constructive feedback, learning opportunities and professional satisfaction for everybody.

Our approach is very much that of team players who take real pride in our tasks – we’re craftspeople.

Creating software is a collaborative endeavor which calls for interaction among us all as we create new knowledge and value for the customer, who we are ultimately here for. This means aligning our work with their needs and values, resulting in products that solve their challenges in a user-friendly way. We work to develop elegant, efficient solutions – we don’t take the fast route if it means we end up drowning in ‘technical debt.’ We believe in modernizing architecture and empowering developers to improve their own work processes.

Mental wellbeing is paramount. We shall have a culture of trust, openness, and positive collaboration. We can share problems, learn from mistakes and – most importantly - support each other. Don’t be afraid to take responsibility, whether it’s work or social activities – we’re all on this voyage together. And, if you believe something is not working as it should, act.

We are all responsible for improving ourselves, having realistic development plans and supporting others to achieve common goals and objectives. We encourage everyone to share their knowledge and competence through common sessions (e.g. Learning Friday).

To ensure all the above, every now and then we need to ask ourselves:

  • How do I show accountability by not letting go of a task/an activity before someone else takes ownership?

  • Am I a good craftsperson?

  • How am I seen as a “culture builder” and ambassador in Instech Solutions?

  • How do I help build Instech Solutions’ reputation?

  • How do I come across and deal with my tasks and work?

  • How do I meet/embrace change?

  • How do I acquire new competence and develop myself?

At Instech Solutions, we enjoy having flexibility at work: However, for any group to function successfully, there are certain rules and guidelines that help safeguard everybody’s day-to-day experience:

Health and Safety: Please adhere to the health and safety regulations. In case of a fire, evacuate the building and assemble outside between Skipet and the Kranen restaurant. A Norwegian Hull Club/Instech Solutions warden wearing a yellow vest will guide you. A defibrillator is in the mid-section of the 5th floor.

IT Security: Comply with Instech’ s Solutions IT security rules and regulations.

Working Hours: You can plan your working hours from Monday to Friday between 0700-1800, with core working hours from 0930 to 1500. Meetings / stand-ups might be planned outside the core working hours.

Overtime: Coordinate work outside working hours, or flex time, with your tech lead. Overtime can only be used when approved by your tech lead / personal manager.

Work location: Work is primarily to be carried out at Skipet. Home office arrangements should be coordinated with your tech lead. Avoid commuting between home office and Skipet during core working hours. Work on the move can only be considered if there is an urgent need.

Private appointments: Try to schedule private appointments outside of core working hours. Coordinate with your tech lead as required.

Vacations, leave, sick leave: Give early notification if you are not able to work to your tech lead and personal manager. Plan vacations in good time, coordinated with your tech lead and personal manager.

Dress code: Employees may wear more relaxed, informal clothing but not necessarily what they may wear lounging at home. For example, jeans and trainers are permissible but sweatpants and Crocs are not. All attire should be clean and presentable. Large slogans should be avoided, and a professional image should be presented.

Registration: Working hours, sick leave, vacation etc. shall be registered in Visma. Registration related to products / tasks shall be registered in Jira/Tempo to ensure correct billing and cost estimations.

Winningtemp: Take part in the regular Winningtemp surveys and use it actively to improve the working environment you are a member of.

Thank you!

We hope you will have an enjoyable, productive, and rewarding time as part of the Instech Solutions team!
Please reach out if you have any questions.
